BLOG BREAK Ideas and Inspiration
Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read blogs.
Chitra Soundar has her big butterfly net out, but she's trying to catch ideas! Her post for Picture Book Den is full of great ideas for how to get, erm, great ideas.
In a similar vein, here's Vanessa Harbour blogging about inspiration. Where does it come from? How do you get it? Can I have some?
Here's an impressive achievement - Catherine Friess's Story Snug blog is 8 years old! Catherine's post about it is both a celebration, and a useful round-up of all the great articles she's published over the last year.
Zoe Cookson's Madge Eekal Reviews has an interesting interview with Hong Kong SCBWI member Christina Matula, who has traditionally published her originally self-published picture book The Shadow in the Moon.
Finally, if you were to do an audit of all the blog posts this year with the word "lockdown" in the title, I suspect you'd get a depressingly high number. But Tracy Darnton's latest post for An Awfully Big Blog Adventure takes a light-hearted look at essential writerly supplies for our next "confined period".
Nick.
